CCAC appoints Roo Dunn as new Executive Director The Chocolate Church Arts Center announced the appointment of Roo Dunn as the Center's new Executive Director effective September 1, 2006. Roo comes to the Chocolate Church as it launches its 30th season as midcoast Maine's premier performing and visual arts center. Mr. Dunn has an impressive resume evidencing a broad range of experience in the arts, budgeting, management, and practical skills in bringing excellence to all aspects of performing arts production. Mr. Dunn's past experience in performing arts management has included the Opera Company of Philadelphia; the Pavarotti International Voice Competition; New York State's Artpark featuring musical theater, opera, dance, music, and sculpture exhibitions; Mikhail Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance project; and a broad array of international touring productions and network television events. In addition, he was the deputy operations director at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia and is a veteran of numerous industrial and trade show productions. Mr. Dunn says, "The Chocolate Church staff, volunteers and board have achieved a tremendous amount in the last several years. I share their vision and am excited to become their partner along with our donors both to further develop our programming and solidify the preservation of the Chocolate Church. We can build on the collective success of the Center and continue to contribute to the creative economy of the mid-coast region.” The Dunns moved from Philadelphia to Bath this past fall, and are happy to be back with numerous family and friends. Roo's wife, Kate Carpenter, grew up in Portland, summered in Georgetown, and the couple was married in Georgetown in 2001. They have a young son. The Chocolate Church Arts Center is a cultural non-profit located in historic Bath, Maine and exists through the generosity of our members, foundation, government and private donors.
