Side by Each & Genticorum
With multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards, as well as Juno and ADISQ nominations, GENTICORUM have earned a reputation as a leading voice in the evolution of Québécois traditional music.
For over twenty years, the trio has earned a place of privilege on world, traditional, folk, and Celtic music stages. Known for their unbridled energy, their musicianship and their magnetic stage presence, the trio has won over audiences at such prestigious events as Celtic Connections in Scotland, the Tønder Folk Festival in Denmark, the National Folk Festival in Australia, the Independent Music Festival in Alexandria, Egypt, the Rain Forest Festival in Malaysia, as well as countless venues across North America.
Pascal Gemme (fiddle) and Yann Falquet (guitar), the group’s two founding members, are both recognized individually as major contributors to the trad music scene in Québec. Since 2015, they have been joined by accomplished multi-instrumentalist and composer Nicholas Williams (flute, accordion). Weaving intricate fiddle, flute and accordion lines, gorgeous vocal harmonies, subtle guitar textures, and exhilarating foot percussion, the pleasure that these three musicians have creating and playing together is palpable, both in the studio and on the concert stage.
“Genticorum has a rightful place amongst the new generation of internationally recognized Québéquois bands. Beautifully presented recording….. harmonizing brilliantly.
— THE LIVING TRADITION
Side By Each features two powerful musical couples, Don and Cindy Roy and Matt Shipman and Erica Brown. The roots run deep in Side By Each as Don and Cindy Roy’s music goes back in each of their families to the Canadian Maritimes and Quebec. In 2018, they were awarded a National Heritage Fellowship Award as leading exponents of Franco-American traditional music in Maine. Erica Brown grew up studying the fiddle with Don from the age of 8 for many years. A virtuosic fiddler and singer herself, of not only Franco-American music but now bluegrass as well, she fits right in with Don and Cindy like they have never stopped playing. Matt Shipman is not only an interpreter of traditional music, of which he has studied and played for many years, but also weaves that love of tradition into his singing and solid accompaniment with bouzouki and guitar. Together with Don and Erica’s fiddling, Cindy’s rhythmic piano, footwork, and step dancing, Matt’s guitar and bouzouki work, and Matt and Erica’s vocals, they bring a lively show to audiences across the US and Canada.
T Marie & Bayou Juju play traditional and original Louisiana music. In addition to honoring traditional Cajun, Creole, Zydeco, Swamp Pop, Country, Blues, and New Orleans songs, the band also contributes to the next generation of South Louisiana sound with their own original tunes, performed in both Louisiana French and English. The band started through gatherings at fires, suppers, porches, and levees, and you’ll feel this vibrant community of friendship echo through all of their music.
Whether they’re rocking a dive bar, lighting up a dancehall, or headlining a festival, they serve up pure joy and that irresistible good juju. So grab your dancing shoes—or shrimp boots—and get ready to dive into some authentic Cajun magic below sea level!

Bourbon-flavored ‘Cajun mayhem from old Acadie.
Sylvain’s Acadian Aces featuring Mitch Reed keeps the ‘cajun flame alive in old Acadie with an energetic brand of raw, rootsy ‘cajun music derived directly from the source. The vocal power of guitarist Robert Sylvain and charismatic fiddler Hawk Kallweit supplies a one-two punch that’s instantly compelling and distinctive. With Maine’s own true accordion ace Junior Stevens on button-box, and the unstoppable combination of Tom Jacques on upright bass and Kris Day on drums, Sylvain’s Acadian Aces deliver heart-wrenching lovesongs and electrifying dance numbers that can bring even the most stoic New Englanders to their feet. Rooted in classic cajun two-steps and waltzes, the repertoire also folds in elements of creole and zydeco traditions along with original Americana and rock ‘n roll sensibility.
