Mariachi, Klezmer, Mexican-Jewish Foods, Dreidel Piñata... On December 20, join the Chocolate Church Arts Center for our second annual Hanukkah Mexicana Party!
This culinary and musical event celebrates the intersection of Jewish and Mexican cultures. Listen to exciting musical performances by local klezmer band The Casco Bay Tummlers and the all-female mariachi band of Veronica Roblés while enjoying delicious eats inspired by Sabor Judío: The Jewish Mexican Cookbook. Think latkes and mole, churros and honey, yum!
The bands will also play together in an inspired fusion of Klezmer & Mariachi—Kleziachi! In this musical interlude, acclaimed authors Ilan Stavans and Margaret Boyle will share stories and poems from Sabor Judío. As part of our grand finale, take a swing at our giant dreidel piñata!
