The Chocolate Church Arts Center (CCAC), based in Bath, Maine, is seeking an Performance Manager.

Position Description

Acts as a liaison between the venue and the artists on the time of performances ensuring that all elements of the evening run smoothly. Approximately 5-15 hours a week depending on the number of shows.

Over the next five years, we anticipate developing a new and bold strategic plan to position our organization for our next phase of growth and development. Additionally, over the next two years we intend to complete a capital campaign feasibility study. The Executive Director will be an integral part of this process. Strong strategic thinking, fundraising, and financial management skills are vital to this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Performance Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Assists the Executive Director in Will Call list and seat assignments.

  • Liaison to artist and sound engineer.

  • Manages hospitality requirements for performers.

  • Performs as Lead Volunteer ensuring all volunteers are trained and have assigned duties before, during, and after performances.

  • Set up and close Concessions

  • Open and close the house

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrates familiarity with the logistics of musical and theatre productions.

  • Is familiar with the basic function of lighting and technical details.

  • Demonstrates specific knowledge of running concessions with Square

  • Is willing and able to work weekend nights and Sunday matinees.

  • Works well with a team.

  • Communicates clearly and effectively.

  • Manages time efficiently.

  • Demonstrates ability to multitask on an ongoing basis.

  • Possesses physical stamina required to remain standing, walking, and moving for long periods of time.

  • Exhibits knowledge of proper production safety procedures.
